                                              Cannes, The View
The view form the apartment we rent was amazing. The sea was calm and every morning there was this little boat and probably to pick up the catch. Old houses with beautiful ornaments or painted in lovely pink. It was relaxed and peaceful. And for a plant/flower lover as myself, it was so nice to see how well they were looked after by the staff of the resort.

                                              Monday, It's Cold & Grey
I took some time off from work this afternoon, did some cleaning at home, especially my work area needed that. In between a run for some errands and fresh flowers, to cheer me up on this grey and cold monday.

                                                         Eames DSR
Zo stijlvol, zo hip, zo cool!
For as long as I can remember I had these chairs on my mind and it's worth waiting for (have to save money for it!) And now there are four Eames in my living room. So cool, so stylish, so good.

In The Kitchen, The Ordinary Things
Sometimes the simple things in life can keep me busy me for days (a luxury thought!) such as this simple bowl. I was looking for it and today I finally found it in a box. Perfect, good enough for the dishwashing sponge on the kitchen counter.

                                                   In My Thoughts, Paris
It's been a while since I visit this city and way too short. But still the memory remains until the next time will take place.

                                           Family, The Restaurant

On sunday morning I was visiting my sister and her husband. I knew that they printed some new business cards with a different logo. An own design with a lot of help (refinement of the design) by my other brother in law, ha family matters. The color choice and the design is pretty modern and sleek, grayish taupe with gold lettering. I like it, so chic! A few weeks ago we visited them again in their restaurant and I had my camera with me. Good to see Frank so relaxed preparing the dishes in the kitchen. I had some pictures of the restaurant itself but unfortunately these images failed. Oh well…maybe better next time. Anyway if you're in the area of Nijmegen and you would like to visit the restaurant, drop me a line. In the weekends it can be very busy and they regret if they have to say sorry. As for the roses, ha ... supermarket roses and still going strong for the fourth week!!

                                                          Street Style

I got this picture from the mother of my boyfriend. The stylishly dressed man in three-piece suit with hat on the left is his grandfather. His briefcase, cigar, and I'm not sure but I guess it's a pocket watch, makes his outfit complete. Wouldn't be nice if man would more dress like a gentle man these days.

~The Past Few Days, Those Moments~

The weather is exceptional, the sun alternated by rain and a pleasant temperature ensure that nature remains in balance. Wonderful to see how one of the rhododendrons develops. Varying from pink to a milky white flower.

~Ding Dong, And He Doesn't Have To Ring Twice~

...I have a package for you! and I know exactly what. I grab my keys and push the button from the elevator (damn, it feels I have to wait for hours, and why now, please! don't leave) It's arrived! the give away I won on Haute Design and it's just what I've expected from, oh no even better. My goodness...I browse quickly through this beautiful book. Oh wow...there's so much to look at, and what about all those lovely little details. The photography is beautiful. Every single home has his own identity. Flea market finds with design, little feminine touches, dark spaces, sleek furniture and sometimes the unexpected which makes it all so personal and to say it's my home, I live here. I mean just about everything you've like about interiors in general, it's gathered in 217 pages and it's an understatement to say that I'm so very happy with this one...

...and it came along with such a lovely note. I'm so grateful. Again, thank you so very much for this give away Sarah...

                                ~Sunday, Festivities In The City~

...a big anual event, The Summer festivals and the Four Days Marches in my home town, Nijmegen. Thousands of people of different nationalities walking this march for four days. Classified in 3 categories, 30, 40 or if you don't get enough of blisters on your feet, the ultimate 50 kilometers. The walk starts on Tuesday, through various places around Nijmegen and Friday it's the big end. I never participate because I simply don't like to walk in a mass. But here is a little impression of my..euh walk. I took the bus to the station and walked through the silence of the city park in to the crowd...

...alternately, the hustle and the bustle, and this I prefer the nice quiet spots...

...this is a favorite part, watching the boats at the warf. I will post the rest of "my walk" later this week...

                         ~In My Country, Visiting~

...while I'm off from work this week, and the weather on tuesday was perfect we drove an hour and a half to visit this pittoresque village nearby (at north of) Amsterdam. Broek in Waterland consists of approximately 2300 residents. The village was in the 18th century known for its beauty and it still is...

...the houses are built of wood and painted in various colors, some with beautiful carved doors...

...the coat of arms is a representation of a goose, and it has it's own little house on the water...

...just can't get enough of these colors, so bright and happy! and a beautiful ornamental door with touches of gold...

...all those little boats waiting at the side of the house...
