                         ~In My Country, Visiting~

...while I'm off from work this week, and the weather on tuesday was perfect we drove an hour and a half to visit this pittoresque village nearby (at north of) Amsterdam. Broek in Waterland consists of approximately 2300 residents. The village was in the 18th century known for its beauty and it still is...

...the houses are built of wood and painted in various colors, some with beautiful carved doors...

...the coat of arms is a representation of a goose, and it has it's own little house on the water...

...just can't get enough of these colors, so bright and happy! and a beautiful ornamental door with touches of gold...

...all those little boats waiting at the side of the house...

  4. beautiful photos! i am homesick now.... I was born in Broek and lived there until we moved elsewhere when i was 10. i always visit whenever i am back in Holland. a minor correction: the coat of arms on the front of the townhall is a swan, not a goose!
