~The Garden Rose~
…the white Rose was standing in the meadow for a couple of years now. Last year I moved it to a wall of a little barn. Not blooming abundantly, but nevertheless happily surprised to see "she" gives me some flowers. It seems the move turns out pretty well...
~Work, Work, Work~
...at the cottage, it's the second day that we've spend some time here. The weather is beyond good to us, 18-19 degrees, a fresh breeze and a lot of sun. Perfect to spend the days outside. So, for my flower bulbs I decide to plant this nearby the cottage, next to a tree to create a bit of shadow. But first I had to prepare the ground, I dug and dug, and oh my...what a work!!!! don't have to think about to do this every day! (oh well...with some great help from my boyfriend). Then I use 40 liters of black potting soil to mix them with humus, which is so fertile. I guess this spot is good enough for my bulbs but that's not my biggest problem. Hopefully I plant them not to far in the hole and with the proper side up!!! (have to wait and see). Anyway, while nature is a bit on delay this year, the "Busy Lizzy" (Vlijtig Liesje) provides for some bit of color...

~This Weekend, And it's Hot~
...I won't complain, but the transition from 25 to temperatures rises above 35 degrees and no wind at all, oh my...pfff pffff, sweat sweat. The only thing we can do is to sit under the tree at the cottage, and now at home with the van at full speed. When we drive to the cottage we always bring so much stuff, off course the food and drinks. Then, my camera, a few mag's, a book, and my notebook to bookmark interesting articles. This time I've read about some nice travel blogs in the Dutch Elle. Ha, and the thought that my vacation just have to begin, it just keeps me in the right mood. Oh, and this I can't ignore the new fragrance from Chanel, Coco Noir. I love the mystical bottle and I was thrilled to find a sample in the Elle. Also an interview with perfumer Christopher Sheldrake and I agree with this quote "making a positive impression with the right perfume". Anyway, it's Sunday, an utterly relaxing weekend is almost coming to an end. To you, I hope you're weekend went well so far...

...a ride on the bike in to the woods and a quick stop at a lake to watch a pack of wild goose, soaking up the sun...
...and what else can you do on a day like this, my plans for the rest of the day is to spend some time at the cottage, it's so good to see how everything is growing over here, so I picked some flowers and put them in those simple glass jars...

~A Day Off~
...A beautiful Spring day, bright rays, not a single cloud in the sky and it felt if I was "skipping from school"...
~Sunday, At the Cottage~
...A short visit. Even though it still looks bare, it sure has that specific ambience so typical for this time of year, which I adore. Branches gently in bloom, foxgloves emerges in other places and scattered throughout, feathers of birds. Hopefully in a few weeks a nest with eggs, haven't see it yet. In the images below my "other half" made some progress. Every year he's creating a organic wall of branches with leafs and tree trunks.
I guess this is a great way to recycle. In the first place it has not a specific function, it emphasizes the path from the first entrance to the meadow and due to their presence last year, a dwelling for wild rabbits...
.....had a great time spending this weekend with my family at the cottage.....

browse through an old (dutch) magazine called Seasons (july/august 1999)and wonder if I could manage to create a flower garden just like this, pfff !! well, at least I can try
but this is surely an ideal place for a family day with my sisters, maybe it wouldn't be as fancy as it is from this magazine, but I'm sure with a lot of fun and off course delicous food, we gonna have a good time.
I had a great weekend !! looking forward to spending my time here again.
